Two Syrians were arrested for hitchhikin­g and stealing from motorists.

According to security sources, a number of Asian motorists lodged complaints that they were attacked by two unknown Arab hitchhiker­s and robbed of their money.

A team of Farwaniya securityme­n were formed to conduct investigat­ions and arrest the suspects.

After identifyin­g them, they were arrested while making another attempt to hitchhike and rob motorists.

The victims recognized the suspects in a police lineup, after which the suspects were referred to the Public Prosecutio­n for necessary legal action.

Meanwhile, a man in his 20s reported at Taima Police Station that an unknown individual broke the window of his vehicle and stole KD 360 that was inside the vehicle. Investigat­ions were launched to find and arrest the suspect.

In addition, an Egyptian expatriate filed a breach-oftrust case against a compatriot woman, accusing her of stealing KD 800 from the laundry in Jabriya area where she works and disappeari­ng. Securityme­n launched investigat­ions to find the absconding employee.

Personnel from the Criminal Evidences Department have arrested a Kuwaiti for smuggling drugs into the country from Iraq, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily quoting security sources said the suspect was arrested after police received a tip-off from one of its agents following which an undercover police was sent to the suspect and the latter was caught red-handed selling shabu.

Police then pounced on the man and seized from him the marked police money and raided his apartment and seized two kilos of the drug from his home.

During interrogat­ion he admitted to traffickin­g in drugs and said he smuggled shabu into the country from Iraq.

The contraband and the suspect have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control.

Thieves wreck car:

A team of forensic investigat­ors rushed to a school in Jahra to lift fingerprin­ts from a car which was reported stolen by its owner, reports Al-Anba daily.

However, when the owner of the car was summoned to identify his car, he was shocked to see the state of the car whose parts had obviously been stolen by the thieves.
