News in Brief

-

The National Guard has tightened security at all checkpoints at the ministries and other institutions which fall under its jurisdiction including the oil facilities and refineries, reports Al-Anba daily quoting reliable sources.

The sources said the National Guard personnel have issued several instructions to employees of the oil companies, which must be fully respected. One of the instructions is the speed limit which the motorists must abide by including keeping safe distance when approaching the gate and checkpoints; avoid transporting – picking or dropping – passengers near the gates and checkpoints and avoid taking pictures of the sites without permission.

The new instructions also include switching off the radio, opening the windows when approaching the checkpoint, and keeping the IDs and permits ready for inspection which must be seen clearly from outside the car window.

Smoking and the use of mobile phones are prohibited at the checkpoint. The same instructions have been issued to protect the KOC oil centers, to increase security and to tighten the entry and exit procedures for employees and others.
