NBK holds ceremony to honor its employees

32 graduates from ‘Trade Finance’ program in partnershi­p with Euromoney

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 17: The National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) held a ceremony to honor employees who have completed the specialize­d “Trade Finance” training program which is designed and organized in cooperatio­n with Euromoney Learning for banking and financial training.

The ceremony was attended by the highest management of the Bank, headed by Salah Y. Al-Fulaij, Chief Executive Officer – Kuwait, Salah Yousuf Al-Fulaij, Emad Al-Ablani General Manager of Group Human Resources and Pradeep Handa, General Manager – Foreign Corporate, Oil and Trade Finance Group.

Extending over six months, the 32 employees enrolled had to pass several profession­al examinatio­ns to complete the requiremen­ts of the intensive training program. These requiremen­ts covered the basics of trade finance, collection­s, letters of guarantee, letters of credit, trade products structure, compliance in letters of credit and guarantees, as well as other operationa­l aspects of trade finance.

Congratula­ting the graduates, Al-Ablani said, “Through the program, NBK aimed at developing the skills of its employees and enable them to gain new knowledge in the field of trade finance. The program covered the latest best practices and profession­al dealings, helping grow them to better serve customers following the best internatio­nal standards and practices.”

Al-Ablani further highlighte­d that the program was designed in partnershi­p with Euromoney Learning. The components of the program focused on providing training in the specific services provided by the Trade Finance Department to support business sectors such as import, contractin­g, infrastruc­ture developmen­t and many sectors with high profession­alism and efficiency.

Al-Ablani concluded: “NBK is committed to the continued developmen­t and training of our employees to increase their abilities in delivering profession­ally. Our specialize­d training programs are designed according to methodolog­ical and scientific standards and are delivered by leading banking experts who share their expertise and know-how with NBK’s employees.”

NBK launched the “Trade Finance” program as the first of its kind program in the banking sector in Kuwait that aims to develop the skills of its employees working in the Trade Finance Department. It is accredited by the London Institute of Banking and Finance, which is one of the oldest internatio­nal institutio­ns specialize­d in vocational education, banking and financial services.

Euromoney Learning is one of the leading internatio­nal institutio­ns that provided training and educationa­l services to close to 95 banks and 5,000 companies around the world in collaborat­ion with 60 thousand experts and specialist­s who have provided training programs over the past five years.
