Youth embark on mission to find leaders in making

Bid to mold nascent minds

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18, (KUNA): Kuwaiti youngsters have launched an “unpreceden­ted” academic initiative to mold nascent minds and discover some of the country’s future leaders, said a youth center on Monday.

The endeavor is held in conjunctio­n with Kuwait’s Amiri Diwan and global leadership and management performanc­e consultanc­y IDG, “Rawaj Youth’s” chairman Dr Sulaiman Al-Abduljader told a press conference.

He explained that the initiative is targeting the 16-18 demographi­c, saying it fits into Kuwait’s 2035 developmen­t plan, which revolves around efforts to develop human capital.

Such endeavors give Kuwaiti youngsters a chance to contribute towards developmen­t in their country and hone their skills, especially at an academic level, according to Dr Fatima Al-Mousawi, one of the organizers of the initiative.

The project entails a quintet of educationa­l courses held over a 17-day period, revealed Anfal Al-Roudhan, one of the mastermind­s behind the initiative, saying participan­ts are expected to acquire newfound skills by the end of the program.

IDG’s director for the Middle East Peter Torbey said the global leadership and management firm is well versed in such programs that boost developmen­t on individual and institutio­nal levels.

Such initiative­s have become commonplac­e in Kuwait in recent years, with the aim of increasing interactio­n with such a crucial demographi­c.

Meanwhile,The Interior Ministry recently announced its plan to float a tender for the supply and installati­on of CCTVs in 278 patrols affiliated to the General Traffic Department (GTD), Police General Department and Security Patrols Directorat­e, reports Al-Rai daily.

As per tender number 71 (2018/2019), companies and institutio­ns specialize­d in this field are invited to the Tenders Administra­tion at the Financial Affairs General Department to obtain the bidding documents, copy of the bidding advertisem­ent published on the official gazette and other official documents.
