KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18, (KUNA): The ‘Al Fahad ... Spirit of Leadership Exhibition’ held Sunday a symposium on history of Kuwaiti-Saudi relations at Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Culture Center in Kuwait city.

During the event, Secretary General of the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives Dr. Fahad Al-Samari spoke to the audience about the main aspects of the relations between the two Arabian Gulf countries as well as their shared geographic location, traditions and destiny.

During his visit to Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Monday, Kanakriyah said in his speech that four of the agreements and memorandum­s focused on the economic field, while the rest included the fields of media, education, higher education, law, housing, environmen­t and social affairs.

He said that the Jordanian Investment Law gives great incentives to foreign investors, adding that the Jordanian government has adopted several laws to encourage foreign investors.

He added that the London conference to support the Jordanian economy, which is scheduled to be held on Feb 28, will address several main axes such as the Jordanian financial situation and the launching of economic projects in several vital areas such as crude oil, transporta­tion, communicat­ions and energy.

For her part, Jordanian Energy Minister Hala Zowati stressed the important role of the private sector in implementi­ng a large part of the agreements concluded during the visit of His Highness the Premier to Jordan, especially with regard to energy fields and renewable sources.

Deputy Chairman of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Abdulwahab Al-Wazzan said that during His Highness the Premier’s visit to Jordan, a joint cooperatio­n protocol between the two countries’ chambers of commerce was signed, adding that the visit reflected the interest of Kuwaiti leadership in involving the private sector in the process of enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries.

He praised the success of the Kuwaiti investment experience in Jordan, adding that these investment­s have included many vital sectors such as tourism, industry, banking, telecommun­ications, real estate and transport. King Fahad bin Abdulaziz and his role in strengthen­ing the Kingdom’s relations with Kuwait.

For his part, Professor of History at the Kuwait University Dr Saud Al-Asfor reviewed a number of the important historical manuscript­s and leaders’ statements which show the strong bonds between Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The exhibition, patronized by His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jeber Al-Sabah, commenced February 11 and would last until February 23.
