Duo out on bail:
The Criminal Court released on a bail bond of KD 20,000 two Kuwaitis and some expatriates accused of human trafficking, scam and fraud. The suspects are said to have lured some expatriates into Kuwait with bogus job opportunities.
The case file indicated that detectives from the Residency Affairs Department embarked on an impromptu campaign in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area during which they arrested the expatriates holding government visas. The expatriates upon questioning revealed that their visas were not attached to any company, indicating they paid for the procurement.
The officers carried out verification of their employers files and detected their companies were located at Farwaniya, Kuwait City and Ahmadi without any proven activities. The companies allegedly brought 3000 workers from different nationalities to Kuwait.
