Foul play suspected as police probe 3 Asians in murder of compatriot in Jleeb

Arabs, Asian caught for smuggling drugs

-

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 1: The prosecutor interrogated three Asians on suspicion of killing their compatriot in his room in Jleeb AlShuyoukh, reports Al-Anba daily.

The suspect was killed during the attack and did not commit suicide by hanging himself with a rope tied around his neck as reported earlier.

The Criminal Investigation Department will again interrogate the suspects. The sources added, if the interrogators find no element of suspicion then the case will be closed as suicide.

According to a security source, when the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received a message about the death, police who rushed to the spot noticed some traces of struggle inside the room.

The neighbors reportedly heard men shouting which supports the notion it may just not be suicide, but the victim may have been beaten before he was hanged or committed suicide after he was beaten.

3 held with drugs: Airport customs recently arrested three passengers at the T1 and T5 terminals of Kuwait International Airport in possession of illicit substances.

In a press release, a member of Customs Media Committee Nawaf Al-Matar explained that a customs officer at T1 terminal of Kuwait International Airport suspected an Arab passenger who arrived from his country. He manually checked the suspect’s luggage and found hashish.

Also, an Arab passenger who arrived from a neighboring country was arrested at T5 terminal of the airport after an inspection of his luggage revealed the presence of 1,500 narcotic pills.

In addition, an Asian expatriate who arrived from his country was arrested in possession of hashish pieces.

All suspects were referred with the confiscated illicit substances to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.

Head of Airport Customs Department Mutlaq Al-Enezi appreciated the efforts exerted by customs officers to block attempts to smuggle banned items into the country.

Himself to blame: The investigator of the Wafra Police Station has given orders to issue a citation against an Egyptian who went to file a complaint with the police station accusing an unidentified person of stealing his vehicle because he left it in operation thus facilitating the thief to escape with it, reports Al-Anba daily.

In his complaint to the police the Egyptian said he left the car in operation and stepped out to buy something from a mobile grocery and in less than a minute the vehicle was gone. Police have circulated the details of the vehicle to all police patrols.

On the other hand, police are looking for an unidentified person for stealing KD 500 from an Indian which he said he had withdrawn from his bank account and submitted the withdrawal receipt as proof to the police station.

Kilo drugs seized: Customs officers at T5 terminal of Kuwait International Airport foiled the attempt of an Asian expatriate to smuggle one kilogram of hashish, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

A member of the Customs Media Committee Nawaf Al-Matar explained that an experienced customs officer suspected the passenger who arrived at the airport and checked his luggage manually to find the hashish which was divided into a number of small pieces and placed in a carton.
