Inauguration of Asian boxing competition to be held on Saturday
The inauguration of the Asian Boxing Competition will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday in Kuwait Sport Club under the patronage of Kuwait Olympic Committee Chairman Sheikh Fahd Nasser Sabah AlAhmed and in the presence of Deputy Director General of Public Authority for Sport and Youth Affairs Dr Saqr Al-Mulla, Head of Asian Boxing Federation Anas Al-Utaibah (from the United Arab Emirates) and the heads of boxing federations of participating countries.
The board members of Kuwait Olympic Committee, heads of Kuwaiti sport federations and Kuwaiti sports clubs will attend the event as well. Head of Kuwait Boxing Federation Muhammad Manssi invited National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim to the inauguration. The speaker affirmed his support for young athletes.

countries and an operetta entitled “Suspend, Lift Ban” on the occasion of the final decision to lift the ban on Kuwaiti sport.
Sponsor of the competition Sheikh Fahd Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmed will deliver a speech, in addition to speeches by heads of Kuwaiti Boxing Federation and Asian Boxing Federation, followed by a number of matches. The final match is scheduled for Aug 8, 2019 for 14 gold medals.
On the other hand, Manssi disclosed that preparations have been completed and all concerned committees carried out their tasks in a manner reflecting the civilized face of Kuwait; thereby, affirming its efficiency in hosting such a significant competition.
He thanked Kuwait Olympic Committee, represented by Chairman Sheikh Fahd Nasser Sabah AlAhmed who has been keen on following up preparations for the event.
He praised the support of Public Authority for Sport and Youth Affairs, pointing out that it exerted tremendous efforts to remove obstacles. He also thanked the Board of Directors of Kuwait Sport Club headed by Khalid Al-Ghanim for hosting the competition.
He confirmed the arrival of the delegations of seven participating countries, indicating that they have been provided with all their needs including housing, transportation and training sport halls.
Moreover, Coach of Kuwait National Team Hamed Zayed said the athletes have reached the top level of readiness despite the short period of preparing for the competition.
