Dept issues 600 A17 passports to Bedouns in 2 wks
KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: The Citizenship and Passports Affairs General Department in the Ministry of Interior issued more than 600 Article 17 passports to Bedouns, who will perform Hajj rites, within just two weeks, reports Al-Qabas daily.
In a press statement, the department revealed that it implemented a comprehensive plan to quickly finalize applications as per the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Sheikh Khalid Al-Jarrah including the exemption of those with expired security IDs.
The concerned Saudi authorities approved the entry of 9,500 pilgrims from Kuwait this year – 8,500 Kuwaitis and 1,000 Bedouns – through official Hajj caravans.
