Afton Williamson, co-star of the ABC crime series “The Rookie”, said she’s quitting the show because of sexual harassment and racial discrimination she experienced during the show’s first season.
In an Instagram post Sunday, Williamson said that throughout the filming of the show’s pilot, “I experienced racial discrimination/racially charged inappropriate comments from the hair department.”
Williamson said the treatment worsened when she was sexually harassed by a recurring guest star, bullied by executive producers and ultimately was sexually assaulted by a crew member at a wrap party.
ABC Studios responded later Sunday with a statement, largely referring to its production partners, Entertainment One.
“The allegations involve a production from Entertainment One,” the network said. (RTRS)

Stu Rosen, best known for his work as the creator of “Dusty’s Treehouse”, died Sunday after a battle with cancer, his cousin Donna Siegel confirmed on Facebook. He was 80.
“This is a very sad day for my family and I. My wonderful, colorful, fantastic cousin, Stu Rosen died this morning,” she wrote. “My heart is broken and I’m sure anyone who has ever met him feels the same way. What a character he was... I will always have a special place in my heart for this fabulous man. Rest in peace my special cousin.”
Rosen first entered the entertainment industry as a production assistant for KCET, before pitching “Dusty’s Treehouse” to CBS in 1965. He would end up working on the show for ten years, starring as the eponymous Dusty himself alongside a number of puppet animal costars. (RTRS)
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif: Luke Perry will be honored in the season premiere of “Riverdale”, with his former “Beverly Hills, 90210” co-star Shannen Doherty
guest starring.
Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW, told a TV critics meeting that the episode is “a moving piece” and “a tribute to our friend and a well-respected actor.”
Perry died in March at age 52 after a massive stroke. His death occurred in the middle of filming for season three and wasn’t mentioned on the show. Producers opted until the season four premiere airing Oct 9 to address what happened to Perry’s character Fred Andrews, the father of Archie.
Molly Ringwald is expected to have a bigger role as Archie’s mother. (AP)
LOS ANGELES:
“The 100” is the latest long-running CW series to reach the end of its run.
Series creator Jason Rothenberg announced Sunday that the show’s previously announced seventh season will be its last.
“With #The100 Season 6 finale just days away, I have some bittersweet news to share: Season 7 will be our last,” Rothernberg tweeted. “We are eternally grateful to WB & CW for always allowing us to tell our story the way we want to & to wrap the show on our terms. What an incredible ride this has been!” (RTRS)
