Three laborers working at constructi­on die, three others hurt in hit by Kuwaiti motorist

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: Three Asian laborers died and three others sustained injuries after they were hit by a vehicle driven by a Kuwaiti citizen in his 30s at the entrance of Mubarak Al-Abdullah area in West Mishref.

According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received informatio­n about the accident, securityme­n and paramedics rushed to the location.

The corpses were referred to the Forensics Department, and the injured victims were referred to the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Hospital. The Kuwaiti motorist has been detained.

Reportedly, the victims were working at a constructi­on site near the location of the accident.

Meanwhile, an Asian expatriate sustained injuries when his vehicle toppled on King Fahad Expressway near Messila area.

Securityme­n and paramedics rushed to the scene after receiving informatio­n about the accident. The victim was referred to the nearest hospital for treatment. The vehicle was removed from the road, and the traffic was organized.

Officer assaulted:

Two Kuwaiti men and a juvenile girl were arrested after the two men attacked a police officer in Salmiya area.

According to security sources, the police officer saw one of the Kuwaiti men with the juvenile girl and approached them for questionin­g. When the man asked the police officer to leave them alone, an argument broke out between them which led to the man hitting the police officer. Few minutes later, another citizen joined in attacking the police officer. Backup police support arrived at the location, and the two citizens were arrested along with the girl. They have been referred to Salmiya Police Station for investigat­ions.

Family brawls:

The father of a 21-year-old Kuwaiti has been summoned for interrogat­ion after the later filed a case against him at a police station accusing the father of assaulting him and submitted a medical report issued by the Adan Hospital documentin­g his injuries, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily quoting security sources said legal action has been initiated against the father.

In another similar incident, police are looking for an unidentifi­ed Kuwaiti for assaulting his father. The father has submitted a medical report issued by the Amiri Hospital showing injuries on his body.

The daily quoting the security sources said the incident happened inside the family home. The father added, the son also hurled abuses at him publicly and escaped.

8 gliders stolen:

Personnel from

the Criminal Evidences Department have lifted fingerprin­ts from a sporting committee in Nuwaiseeb after an unidentifi­ed person broke into the club and stole eight different types of gliders and 5 radio equipment and other items, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily did not give more details.

Oil facility gate hit:

An unidentifi­ed Kuwaiti has been arrested by police for causing damage to a government facility, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, this happened when the suspect drove his salon car into the gate of an oil installati­on in the Ahmadi Governorat­e.

A security source, during interrogat­ion the Kuwaiti, born in 1992, said he hit the gate by mistake and agreed to pay for the damages.
