KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: The Ministry of Health has decided to accredit an international specialized company to audit the academic certificates of dentists, nursing and allied medical professions in the public and private sectors, reports Al-Rai daily.

The Licensing Department of the Ministry of Health in a letter to the directors of private hospitals, health centers, dispensaries and clinics, said the approval of the specialized international verification services company ‘DATACHECK ISVSC’, is a must to verify the validity of certificates. This should be done before Aug 30 to allow the company time to give its feedback before Sept 30.

Addressing all facilities in the private health sector, the ministry stressed that this company, according to the ministerial decisions is only responsible for checking the authenticity of academic certificates.

Sources pointed out that the ministry had earlier hired ‘Epic’ global, to verify and validate the data of certificates of medical doctors with the aim to improve the quality of health care and to ensure all health workers and specialists are qualified through the validation of the data of their certificates.

The Family Custody Department of the Ministry of Social Affairs received today the child who was found abandoned in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh after he was treated by the Farwaniya Hospital, reports Al-Rai daily.

After confirming his good health, the hospital administration yesterday handed over the child to the Ministry of Interior (Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh Area Command), accompanied by a social worker and a nurse.

Dr Khaled Al-Ajmi, Acting Director of Family Custody Department, told AlRai the child is temporarily taken care of by the department until his parents are found because he is young and unable to take care of himself.
