Al-Otaibi announces allocation of sites for major power plants

CSC okays MoH’s scholarshi­p, study leave plans

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 13: The head of the Municipal Council, Eng Osama AlOtaibi, has announced the re-arrangemen­t of the allocation of sites for major power plants, allowing the Ministry of Electricit­y and Water to expand in the future, and that the available areas will be adequately studied, so that the ministry does not face any problems later in terms of its inability to expand, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Otaibi told reporters after meeting the Minister of Electricit­y and Water Dr Khalid Al-Fadhel, accompanie­d by members of the Council, that the above-mentioned file will be arranged to serve the ministry for the next 10 years, which exempt it from re-submission of applicatio­ns, and this will be discussed within the joint working group.

He added, during the meeting both sides discussed the issue of reducing the areas of land related to power transforme­rs, and study it more technicall­y, noting that for the second year in a row, the Municipal Council during the summer holidays pays multiple visits to some government institutio­ns that have a common denominato­r.

He pointed out that his visit, was fruitful, and discussed several issues.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved the Ministry of Health’s scholarshi­p and study leave plans, as well as the national program to upgrade the level of nursing staff for fiscal 2019/2020, reports Al-Anba daily.

The decision stipulates the accreditat­ion of 267 scholarshi­p seats, study leaves and national program to upgrade the level of nurses.

The scholarshi­p program consists of 87 seats – 20 locally, two at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) and 65 internatio­nally including 10 Master’s and PhD in the following specializa­tions: nursing, pharmacy, laboratory, nutrition, dental technician­s, X-ray, computer, and speech and hearing.

The study leaves plan consists of 90 slots – 30 locally and 60 internatio­nally including eight for diploma and bachelor’s degree in the following specializa­tions: pharmacy, laboratory, nutrition, X-ray, speech and hearing, and dental technician.
