Don’t chase suspects: MoI

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 14: In the interests of the safety of the lives of security personnel, Kuwaitis and residents, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Public Security and Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf has issued a decision ordering police patrols and securitymen not to chase escaping suspects but only note down the license plate numbers, except in cases where required and that too after obtaining approval from the Operations Department of the Public Security Sector, reports Al-Rai daily.

This is also to prevent damage to police vehicles following recent events.
