KUWAIT CITY, Aug 15: Although the export of Iraqi gas to Kuwait is just around the corner following an agreement between the two countries on all details related to this file, Kuwait’s Ministry of Oil is still waiting for the final approval of its Iraqi counterpart to press ahead with the project, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources.

Sources elaborated that the Kuwaiti side is waiting for the response of Iraqi Minister of Oil Thamer Al-Ghadban as the project was confirmed during the tenure of former minister Abduljabbar Al-Laeibi.

Sources explained the implementation of the agreement has been delayed due to change in the Iraqi government after the two sides had long discussions on the quantity of gas to be exporter to Kuwait – 50 million cubic feet daily – at the initial stage.
