More than 124 students participat­e in NBK Summer Internship Program 2019

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 10: National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) concluded its 2019 Summer Internship Program for high school and college students. More than 124 students participat­ed in the Summer Internship Program this year. Students participat­ed in field activities including visits to the Kuwait central Bank and other public and private institutio­ns.

Yaqoub Al Baqer, NBK Public Relations Team Leader said that NBK views the Summer Internship Program as an extension of NBK’s education outreach services. “This program is a demonstrat­ion of NBK’s longstandi­ng social involvemen­t and commitment towards providing Kuwait’s younger generation with appropriat­e opportunit­ies to experience firsthand the banking profession,” Al Baqer added.

The 5-hour daily sessions of two-week internship featured a mixture of theoretica­l and practical training dedicated to providing the interns with invaluable knowledge on a variety of subjects such as; team work, creative thinking, means of self-expression

and modern banking work procedure, in addition to helping interns to have greater exposure to daily banking work procedures.

NBK Summer Internship Program partners with LoYAC for the third consecutiv­e year. This partnershi­p aims at enhancing the Summer Internship Program with new challenges and is part of the ongoing partnershi­p between NBK and LoYAC. The LoYAC training sessions included an introducti­on to the civil society sector, highlighti­ng Civic Engagement and how values influence behavior.

Also NBK arranged field trips to the trainees to Kuwait Danish Dairy Company (KDD), Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company (KFMBC), PEPSI and Kuwait Indo Trading Company (KITCO). Representa­tives from these companies took the students on a tour to introduce them to the various activities as well as an exclusive visit to its factory. The students had the chance to see the different stages of food production.

NBK is proud of the outcome of the 2019 summer internship program and is looking forward to welcome the students who couldn’t register this year in NBK’s next year program.
