Doctor jailed in manslaughter case

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 29: The Misdemeanor Court chaired by Judge Mut’eb Al-Ardhi has adjourned Ministry of Interior’s hospitality case to Oct 6, while the court rejected the bail application for the suspects, which means they will remain in detention until the next session. The session is to continue hearing submissions from the ministry’s expert accountants.
The last session was the seventh in the celebrated case no. 56/2018 concerning public fund. It involves 24 officials from the Ministries of Interior and Finance who were charged with forgery, dereliction of duty, misappropriation of public funds and money laundering. The defense counsels were present at the session making frantic efforts to get bail for their clients.
Doctor jailed:
The Criminal Court has sentenced an Egyptian doctor to three years in jail but released him on 5,000 dinar bail for allegedly causing the death of Dora al-Haraz, reports Al-Anba daily.
The verdict includes a fine of 100 dinars for the manslaughter charge and ordered the physician to pay the family of the deceased 5,001 dinars as temporary compensation to the heirs of the victim. The 13-year-old girl died at the Abdullah Al-Salem Dermatology Center after she was given a dose of anesthetic to remove a fat bag behind her ear. The incident dates back to September last year.
Firm wins case:
The Court of Cassation has ruled in favor of an investing company giving it the right to cancel all old documents and make new contracts determining the new rents for shops in the Mubarakiya Market, reports Al-Rai daily.
The spokesman for the shopkeepers owners Anwar al-Qenai told the daily, people were affected during bad times following the withdrawal of the shop.
