KUNA holds ‘internship’ graduation function for Kuwait varsity students

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8, (KUNA): The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday held a graduation ceremony for six batch of the Kuwait University (KU) students who completed KUNA’s internship program for 20192020.

Speaking at the ceremony, KUNA’s Board Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah stated that KUNA internship helps prepare KU students to meet labor market needs.

It qualifies students to start a successful career and assume their responsibi­lity towards the dear homeland through contributi­ng to the march of constructi­on and renaissanc­e, Sheikh Mubarak noted, lauding enthusiasm of the 21 participat­ing students.

He thanked Kuwait University Director Dr. Hussein Al-Ansari and KUNA staff for their fruitful cooperatio­n to render the program a real success.

This cooperatio­n reflects mutual keenness on materializ­ing the New Kuwait 2035 vision for further progress and prosperity for Kuwait, he stated.

Meanwhile, Al-Ansari hailed cooperatio­n between KUNA and the Kuwait University for the sixth year in a row. He also expressed gratitude for KUNA’s staff efforts during the program.

For his part, KUNA’s Deputy Director-General for the Editorial Sector and Editor-in-Chief Saad Al-Ali boasted that participat­ing in KUNA internship have helped graduates of past years get jobs easily.

He argued that KUNA aims, through this internship, to educate participan­ts about the profession­al media rules.

KUNA also seeks to inculcate principles of credibilit­y and accuracy in the minds of future journalist­s and media people, he said.

For her part, Bonaya Al-Ajmi, a participat­ing student, delivered a speech on behalf of all graduates, thanked KUNA for training them on job skills and workplace environmen­t before they enter the labor market.

This training course has greatly instilled in ethics of objective media all participan­ts and trained them on how to report credible news to serve the society, she noted.

The KUNA’s sixth internship program launched on Aug 2 as part of KUNA endeavors to carry out part of Kuwait 2035 vision tasked with developing human resources.
