Committee of the National Assembly asserted further deliberations are needed to assure that the bill has the best possible outcome.

In the presence of the Minister of Social Affairs Sa’ad Al-Karraz, the bill was withdrawn from the National Assembly agenda during the last legislative term due to controversy over numerous articles, especially that which stipulated the incarceration of anyone that criticizes or doubts charity work.

Committee Rapporteur MP Osama AlShaheen stated the committee has postponed voting on the bill, since the meeting was dedicated to receive and discuss the government’s input on some of the amendments proposed by MP, which fortunately concluded with the government’s agreement.
