KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8: The British Business Forum (BBF), a non-profit association of British business people in Kuwait held its monthly meeting recently. The speaker for the evening was An Swinnen, the Managing Director of BECS, an award-winning corporate training company based in London that specializes in business, management and health courses and coaching.
She explained in a simple and fun way how the brain works, what the causes are of depression, anxiety, depression and burnout and more importantly, what can be done about it. A brain based toolbox was given to learn to control your mood and improve all aspects of professional and private life.
She also introduced BECS’s 15th anniversary prize draw. On 6 January 2020 BECS will give away a holiday in Spain for two for seven nights including return flights from Kuwait and beach-front accommodation in La Carihuela and for contracts in 2019 of £25,000 or more the holiday in Andalucia will be given automatically. BECS has been delivering training in Kuwait and GCC since 2006. Clients include Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Zain, Mezzan Holdings, Aluminium Bahrain and Qatargas. In 2012 An became a BBF Director and set up the BBF Businesswomen Sector Group. She is also a Co-Founder of the International Women Network Kuwait which has monthly meetings at the Regency.
Swinnen is also a Solution Focused Psychotherapist and Author of Brain Based Stress Management, an easy-touse workbook. According to the British government 15.4 million work days were lost due to work-related stress, depression and anxiety in 2017-18, she said.
