ASSP Kuwait conducts training program on HSE essentials
KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8: American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), Kuwait Chapter is a premier voluntary, non-profit making Health, Safety and Environmental organization, which strives to provide professional guidance, training, consultancy and resources to the industrial and social sectors in the region.
As part of society’s continuous efforts to bring learning opportunities and latest developments for our members in the field of HSE, we conducted the third training program of the term, “HSE Essentials for HSE Professionals” on Sept 20 at Best Western Hotel, Mahboula, Kuwait.
The Training proceedings started off with the opening address by Jahid Thakor, Vice President, ASSP, Kuwait Chapter welcomed the participants and briefed about the importance of training programs which helps HSE professionals to stay updated in their field and enhance their careers. Ali Arshad, Head, Training Committee welcomed the participants appreciated for their overwhelming response. He expressed his gratitude to Chapter’s Executive Committee and Members of Training Committee for extending their support and co-operation.
Ali Arshad briefed about the recent & upcoming training programs and invited the renowned coach and trainerDrSiva Prasad Penkey and thanked him for his consent and volunteer to conduct the training session despite his pressing engagements for the benefit of ASSP members.
Dr Siva has vast experience of more than 30 years of providing leadership for reputed corporates like Cairn Energy, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, India, and K-Companies in Kuwait. He is specialized in HSEMS, Risk Management, PHSER, RFSU, HSE Audits etc. Along with ASP, Grad IOSH and SIIRSM Dr Siva is M. Tech in HSE and holds PhD.
He has presented several Technical Papers at International HSE Conferences Including ACGIH – California, USA ,and other globally reputed conferences and seminars. In the process he has won many awards and recognitions.
The session was huge success both in numbers of attendance and the quality. There were 82 participants who attended the session.
As the session came to an end, Sunil Sadanand, President ASSP Kuwait Chapter was invited at the stage to address the participants. He was delighted to see the number of participants and congratulated the participants for showing zeal and enthusiasm. He reiterated that the chapter will continue to do everything possible to help develop the skill and impart knowledge to HSE Professional to make them better and competent professionals which will ultimately lead to safety and happiness.
Later, The President, Sunil honored Dr Siva and thanked him for his time and the training he provided. He also awarded the Certificate of Participation to all the participants. He also announced free awareness session on “HSE Plan” on Oct 24 by the Chapter and asked everyone to benefit from the session and always check for upcoming training programs please visit Kuwait.assp.org
