‘End of Israeli state is nigh’

- — Compiled by Zaki Taleb

“THE Israeli state was established by Universal Zionism and Western Imperialism in Palestine in order to make this entity a military base for Western imperialism to fuel wars for the benefit of the imperialists,” columnist Mustafa Al-Sarraf wrote for Al-Qabas daily.

“As a matter of fact, the West monopolizes the weapons industry and still insists on dominating the oil rich Middle East region and then treat it like its backyard to harvest its fruits and exploit its resources.

“Such being the case, it is the West which still prevents the establishment of a heavy duty military industry in the Middle East or allow the states in this part of the world to possess any type of sophisticated military weapons that shall make it capable to cap Israel.

“Not only that, the West in lieu of any other trick instigates Israel to get involved in a war with Arab countries to destroy their weapons and sell them more new weapons to replace those which have become rusty.

“Apart from the above, the West in case it can’t agitate a war between the Arabs and Israel, it fuels wars among the Arabs themselves by creating differences among them.

“Meanwhile, we say Israel during the 1948 war achieved a victory against the Arabs because of its sophisticated military weapons while the Arab armies that were armed with old fashion and outdated weapons.

“In 1967, the same scenario repeated when Israel was provided with the latest sophisticated weaponry. In 1973 the same thing happened following the expulsion of the Russian experts from Egypt in a prelude to Americanize the Egyptian weaponry to meet the satisfaction of the former.

“Meanwhile, following the revolution in Iran against the then ally of the West, namely the Shah, the West instigated Saddam Hussein to wage a war against Tehran during which both Iran and Iraq lost their wealth in the name of the so-called double containment policy.

“And when the Gulf states witnessed an economic boom by virtue of their oil revenues, these states found themselves involved in a war with Iraq and later with Syria and today they are fighting in Yemen and these wars have resulted in the destruction of the infrastructures of the relevant Arab countries. Moreover, some of the Gulf states have lost some parts of its oil revenues and nobody knows when this situation will end.

“Nowadays, Israel along with Turkey and America, are grooming themselves to wage a war on Iraq under the umbrella of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to divide Iraq and surmount any initiative that may be aimed at reforming the situations in Iraq.

“This happens, while most of the Arabs are sitting in front of their TV screens with their mouths open as if they are watching a football match.

“However, if the Arab states are unable to liberate the Arab Palestine, then we hereby wonder what about the big Islamic states such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan and Turkey. Why these states don’t work to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem in its capacity as the First Qibla for the Muslims, let alone that the Mairaj (Ascension) of the Prophet Muhammad, Peace Be Upon Him, to heaven was from there. Likewise, where is the Islamic Cooperation Conference (ICC) and why the latter has neglected its duty in this regard?

“It is needless to say the Arabs and Muslims will not surrender Jerusalem. A day will come when the Palestinians will return to their land irrespective of the length of the time, because this people still make every possible sacrifice for this purpose and what is currently taking place on the ground in Palestine shows that the occupying entity will vanish.

“Hence, this entity is currently striving to normalize ties with the Gulf states to avert the danger currently threatening its very existence.”

Also:

“The situation in the Palestinian territories is based on displacement, marginalization, killing and the violation of basic human rights and this still happens although many years have passed since the transplantation of the Zionist entity in Palestine by Europe,” columnist Mishref Eqab wrote for Al-Shahed daily.

“As a matter of fact, the policy of the Israeli imperialism in the usurped Palestine since the very beginning of building the Jewish settlements there and until now is based on practicing violence against the Palestinians as well as marginalizing it since the defeat of 1948 and the further defeats that incurred by the Arabs and so far to such an extent we venture to say that the situations have remained unchanged so far.

“Not just that, the Arab world, witnessed many dangerous relapses which unfortunately led to marginalizing the Palestinian cause.

“In this context, we say that the appearance of many problems in the Arab world have actually resulted in many Arabs facing the same fate of the Palestinian people.

“But the problem which currently surrounds the Palestinian affairs, rests in a struggle for power among the Palestinians themselves to such an extent, we venture to say it is strange indeed that what is currently happening among the Palestinians mostly represented by acute divisions between the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) in the West Bank and Hamas Movement in Gaza Strip.

“As a matter of fact, the entire world and we in the Arab world are talking day and night about the Palestine in its capacity as the central Arab cause and what have we done for the sake of the Palestinian cause.

“In spite of the above, we suggest that the most dangerous aspect that is currently facing the Palestinian cause is represented by the marginalization that is shown by the official Arab order towards this cause, particularly in terms of its current place among its priorities.

“In other words, this cause no longer represents the first cause for the Arab world, because the latter is currently preoccupied by the events which currently take place in Syria, Libya and Iraq.

“For the time being, Israel is involved in perpetrating the most brutal Zionist massacres against the Palestinians and this is evident through its aggressive and vicious wars on both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

“This happens while the meeting that was held at the Arab League (AL) level is incommensurate with the brutality and the viciousness of the Zionist aggression, particularly since we know that the relevant meetings were held only at the level of Arab representatives to the Arab League and at most at the foreign ministers level and this can be attributed to a fact that the actuality of the official order is currently confined to the Arab local crises at the expense of the Arab nationalistic issues including the Palestinian cause.”

“We returned to ‘point zero’ again with the decision that prevented an evening to be hosted for the novel “Forty Rules of Love“after a series of condemnations and denunciations that trailed the restriction of freedoms due to security ban on the cultural activity!” Khalid Ahmad Al-Tarrah wrote for Al-Qabas daily.

“Regardless of the author of the novel, whether Turkish or thinker Jalaluddin Rumi, the latter was the focus of the protest by analyst MP and current Information Minister Muhammad Al-Jabri who rose up as a deputy years ago against holding an evening for Rumi personally, while his body has been lying under the ground since 1273.

“Today, Ministry of Interior has entered the line of cultural freedoms regarding the licensing or content of the evening. There is no difference between the two. It is an issue of freedoms and expression, which was clearly safeguarded by the Constitution of the State and its explanatory memorandum in clearer detail but we have media and non-media laws today under another name, which is influence. The hard-liner and religious MPs, as opposed to other deputies, are weak and lack political acumen in the failure to realize the consequences of stripping citizens of the same freedoms as their peers in one homeland!

“There is a positive side to the decision of ban. Instead of a limited audience for the evening of reading “The Rules of Love” for a few hours, the novel- thanks to the ban- has become more popular and attractive to a mass audience outnumbering the evening to increase proceeds from buying the novel. The downside, and most important aspect, is the return to the language of “condemnation and denunciation”, without a quick and effective movement of the owners of the evening and others within the institutions of civil society, and majority of the nation’s lawmakers, especially those who claim to be with constitutional freedoms. If not for the youth and a base of voters seeking a glimmer of hope in the export of enlightenment and enhancing the values of dialogue, the lawmakers wouldn’t have made it to Abdullah Al-Salem Hallowed Chambers (Parliament).

“The government is used to the language of “condemnation and denunciation” more than others, as long as the situation will not exceed such vocabulary. We must acknowledge our weakness as writers and forces advocating the support of freedoms and the Constitution, because of superiority of the power of influence in other camps who had previously prevented freedoms in the homeland.

“Nothing, as long as the winds of oblivion may turn this page and other pages today and at the next election! All opinions must be respected in relation to the novel and others but in light of scientific criticism and intellectual confrontation in a place befitting the goal and not the National Assembly, so that some people don’t hide under immunity to deviate from the values of dialogue and permissible criticism.

“The disadvantage is that the word may not be imposed on those who impose his opinion and respond, but on the spectators inside and outside the government, even after watching the Deputy Minister Al-Jabri on the Arab Channel who did not distinguish between the dead and the living in the current government! The next ban may be for Al-Hallaj on the Internet or talk about it. Our time is blemished and the flawed. What else is defective in our time except us? We might have approached the time without offense, even if the pronunciation of time to us is satire.

“The world today measures the development and progress of countries through infrastructure and telecommunications services, to know how much the state is ready to be a center of finance, business, commercial and economy, or just a state mired in government bureaucracy and stuck in the solution of dependence on oil as its sole source of income, in light of the frightening economic wars between China and the United States and the fluctuations of energy prices,” columnist Zayed Al-Zaid wrote for Annahar daily.

“To know how much we are prepared to be a financial and economic center as the government has been claiming for decades, we must consider the most important infrastructure for the business environment, the postal service, which suffers from serious negligence that has led it to be a passage for some smugglers and toxin traders to smuggle their drugs and poisons as shown at the top of the security pages in Kuwaiti newspapers frequently.

“According to newspapers and reports, drug dealers use international mail frequently, taking advantage of negligence by some Kuwaitis working in the postal sector, to smuggle these drugs from Europe and Latin America, despite the efforts of the Interior Ministry and their counterparts in the Customs to seize the drugs.

“There are more quantities finding their way into the country according to the known theory in the ‘smuggling trade’ is that what is caught is only a fraction of what is being smuggled.

“The drug dealers target Kuwait through the postal services because they know that the parcels department, control distribution, speed and perfection are non-existent, and that complete postal administrations are run by cleaners due to the absence of some employees and the negligence of others, which make is easy for them to penetrate the security barrier through bribing cleaning workers or threatening them.

“A time has come for us to restructure and develop it, instead of remaining dormant, slow and waste but instead closing all security loopholes.”

“The health of young people is more important than everything because they are the future generation – builders and future leaders of the nation – and we must pay attention to imparting proper education on them in order to protect them from the scourge of drugs that can destroy them and their future,” columnist Abdulrahman Al-Awwad wrote for Al-Sabah daily. “There is no doubt that all families fear for the future of their children and it is time we sound the alarm bell to prevent the spread of various types of drugs which are now found on the periphery of schools and even inside school, thanks to some weak souls who neither have respect for life nor fear God.

“We send this message to families because we see the government agencies involved in combating this scourge playing a wonderful and integrated role in preventing this poison entering the country by arresting traders, but this is not enough so it time to tighten the grip by the state agencies on these criminals.

“However, the security vigilance alone is not enough but must be accompanied by great family control on young people, especially adolescents who are very curious and love to explore everything to experience whether good or bad, and here comes the role of the family to educate them about the dangers in general and the risk of the scourge of drugs in particular.”
