Housing allowance of citizens delaying in accepting plots will be ‘suspended’

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 21: Minister of Public Works and State Minister for Housing Affairs Dr Jinan Boushahri has issued a decision to suspend housing allowance for those whose plots are ready for delivery but they had requested for delay in receiving the plots, and those who did not visit the Public Authority for Housing Welfare to receive their plots, reports Annahar daily.

According to the decision, the allowance will be paid to the beneficiar­y when the plot is allocated to him or by inserting his name in the draw for distributi­on of plots or from the date of issuance of the plot allocation decision. The funding of the allowance will start by the beginning of the months that follow the draw, and for the issuance of the allocation decision.

Meanwhile, MP Hassan Abul disclosed that a decision will be taken soon to allow employees to receive payment by cash for their pending vacation days for a maximum of 180 days.

He said he discussed this decision with Minister of Finance Dr Nayef Al-Hajraf and the Civil Service Commission (CSC) as it supports the rights of employees.

In the meantime, the Rapporteur of Parliament’s Youth and Sports Committee MP Ahmed Al-Fadhel stressed that the draft law on sports profession­alism and the draft law on full-time sports career will be ready by the beginning of the coming parliament­ary term.

He affirmed that added that the bills will be sent to CSC for its opinion prior to the meeting with Public Institutio­n for Social Security, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Social Affairs, Public Authority for Manpower and other relevant bodies.
