Turkey holds Bagh­dadi son

ANKARA, Nov 7, (KUNA): Turk­ish Pres­i­dent Re­cep Tayyip Er­do­gan an­nounced ar­rest­ing son of for­mer leader of the so-called Is­lamic State (IS) Abu Bakr Al-Bagh­dadi.

Cap­tur­ing the for­mer leader’s son is an im­por­tant step for Turkey, after the ar­rest of Al-Bagh­dadi’s wife and sis­ter as well, Er­do­gan said in a press state­ment at the air­port, be­fore head­ing to Hun­gary for an of­fi­cial visit on Thurs­day.

He added that they will trans­fer the fam­ily mem­bers to the de­por­ta­tion cen­ter, await­ing the Min­istry of Jus­tice’s de­ci­sion.

Mean­while, Er­do­gan said Turkey pre­vented 76,000 peo­ple be­long­ing to IS from en­ter­ing the coun­try and de­ported 7,550 oth­ers, while 1,149 mem­bers are jailed.

Wed­nes­day, Turkey an­nounced ar­rest­ing Al-Bagh­dadi’s wife, days after ar­rest­ing his sis­ter in Azaz city north of Syria.

The pi­anist and com­poser Re­nara Akhoundova per­formed at the Yar­mouk Cul­tural Cen­ter on Wed­nes­day evening as part of the Dar Al Athar Al-Is­lamiyyah’s 25th cul­tural sea­son. The mu­si­cal evening was a con­tin­u­ous im­pro­vi­sa­tion in the present mo­ment in which Akhoundova in­vited each mem­ber of the au­di­ence to par­tic­i­pate in the mu­si­cal en­counter by con­nect­ing what is alive in them now, with­out the dis­trac­tion of pe­ri­odic ap­plause. Akhoundova was born in Baku to a fam­ily of in­tel­lec­tu­als in a cul­tur­ally mixed en­vi­ron­ment (Rus­sian and Azer­bai­jani), she de­buted on the piano at the age of three and showed ex­cep­tional mu­si­cal tal­ent from day one. After a rig­or­ous mu­si­cal ed­u­ca­tion at the con­ser­va­tory, she shocked her par­ents with her de­ci­sion to leave the piano and study Eco­nomics at Moscow State Uni­ver­sity.
