Kuwait in strategic ‘Arab NATO’ talks

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 14, (KUNA): The sixth session of the Kuwaiti-Chinese joint committee concluded here Thursday, stressing the need to continue working to boost economic and developmen­t relations between the two countries.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Finance, Assistant Undersecre­tary for Economic Affairs Nabil Al-Abduljalil said that the meetings discussed ways of enhancing bilateral relations in areas of common interest, especially economic, trade, investment, developmen­t, and financial affairs.

Al-Abduljalil explained that the meetings touched on ways of boosting joint cooperatio­n mechanisms in the interest of the two countries and strengthen­ing the strategic partnershi­p, especially as China “ranked first as the country’s key trade partner in 2018, with the total value of bilateral trade reaching about USD 18.7 billion.

For his part, Kuwaiti Ambassador to China Sameeh Hayat told KUNA that the meetings focused on developing proposals related to joint projects, ways of increasing trade exchange between the two countries, and making the Kuwaiti economy climate attractive to foreign investment.
