AUB announces start of countdown to charity ‘Fun Run’ event

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 11: Ahli United Bank (AUB) announced the start of countdown to the charity “Fun Run” event it organizes for the second year in a row on Dec 14 in a clear message reflecting the bank’s commitment in raising awareness of the importance of preserving and protecting the environment. This event is also in line with the bank’s CSR program which sets youth and environment on the top of its priorities in accordance with His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah

Commenting on this event, Mrs Sahar Dashti, General Manager of the Customer Protection, and the Head of CSR Team at AUB called on all age groups to participate in this event, emphasizing that each participant in this event is considered a contributor in achieving the vision of His Highness the Amir, which caring for the environment is one of its pillars, and which is considered a pride for every contributor and participant.

Dashti said: “The exceptional success we achieved last year through this initiative, demonstrated by the participation of an unexpected number of contestants, including participants of the people of determination who showed great enthusiasm to contribute to the success of the event, was an incentive for us to continue and develop this event year after year.”

Dashti pointed out that this event will have a charitable, environmental and health return at the same time by encouraging all members of the community to practice sports, adding that all the proceeds of this event will be allocated for planting palm trees, and the harvested dates will be dedicated for supporting and subsiding needy families on an ongoing basis. Dashti affirmed that organizing and sponsoring this race by AUB reflects the bank’s keenness to encourage collective sports activities and events, and promotes their culture fostering positive competition values, and for their active role in the development of the mental and physical abilities of different age groups, adding that this year event will include a higher number of prizes for the winners.
