No entry with ‘punctured’ Civil ID

‘Only leadership pictures’

-

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: Deputy Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Essam AlNaham has sent a circular to all concerned sectors that the Civil ID of the bearer must be ‘punctured’ if the bearer is given a temporary residence or if the bearer is leaving the country so that the bearer cannot enter the country using the same ID, reports AlAnba daily.

The text of the circular, a copy of which has been obtained by the daily, stated: ‘Because there are no offices affiliated to the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) in some departments, and it is not possible to cancel the civil ID, it has been agreed with PACI to puncture a hole in the civil IDs of foreigners upon granting temporary residence or in the event of them leaving the country.

‘Therefore, in the event if a foreigner is holding a civil ID with a punctured hole, that

ID must be considered null and void, meaning the person is not entitled to enter the country using that civil ID.’ The information has been relayed to all concerned officials in the Ministry of Interior.

On the other hand, Al-Naham has issued a circular which forbids displaying pictures of any personalities in the offices and corridors of the Ministry of Interior except the pictures of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince. The circular says, a copy of which has been obtained by the daily, upon instructions of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, employees of the Ministry are forbidden to display any images in all buildings affiliated to the Ministry of Interior (corridors or inside the offices) except for the photos of His Highness the Amir and His Highness, the Crown Prince.

The circular says these instructions must be strictly adhered to.
