Police looking for gang selling counterfei­t phones

Violators taken by surprise in consecutiv­e campaigns

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 27: The security authoritie­s have intensifie­d their efforts to arrest members of an organized gang that has invented a new trick to persuade residents in the country to buy counterfei­t Chinese phones, reports Al-Qabas daily.

They usually claim they want to sell these phones for a throwaway price because they are about to travel and want to sell the phones for nearly half the price.

However, if there was an iota of truth in what has been published, the sources added, the ministry would not hesitate to make an announceme­nt as it has done in the past.

The sources pointed out there are in the Sulaibikha­t Care Home including 28 Kuwaitis.

Wooing for sex:

The Hawalli police are looking for an unidentifi­ed Arab man who is said to have closed his cellphone after police contacted him, reports Al-Anba daily.

This came after an Arab woman filed a complaint with the police station accusing her co-worker of luring her to have sex with him and inviting her to his home.

B’deshi beaten, robbed:

A Bangladesh­i has filed a complaint with the police accusing an unidentifi­ed police impersonat­or of stealing 580 dinars, his driving license and civil ID, reports Al-Anba daily.

The man said he was robbed adjacent to the Sulaibikha­t cemetery.

He added, the man was riding a four-wheel drive and that before robbing him the man assaulted him for no reason.
