KUWAIT CITY, Jan 29: Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr Fahad Al-Afasi affirmed that many draft laws have been prepared and will be referred to the National Assembly in the coming weeks, reports Al-Anba daily.

In his statement, Dr Al-Afasi said, among such draft laws, there is a new endowment (waqf) law that was referred to the Fatwa and Legislation Department during the era of former Minister Fahad Al-Shula. He explained, “The law is one of the important laws that have been fully studied in order to advance the charitable and endowment work that Kuwait has been known for its excellence over a century”. He indicated that the draft law includes many articles related to charitable work as well as precise definitions of endowment, so that those in charge of it can organize matters related to this aspect.

On the other hand, the investigation committee on abuses in appointments and promotions will meet at the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation today to discuss the response to the minutes of the committee’s meeting with the corporation and its subsidiaries on the 19th of this month.

This includes observations that marked appointments and promotions, and the most prominent observations that the State Audit Bureau concluded in terms of administrative and financial abuses that were done in the Kuwait National Petroleum Company from end of the financial year 2015/2016 to the current fiscal year 2019/2020
