‘Kuwait firm on Palestinian support’

‘Arab weakness encourages meddling’

-

“IT LOOKS like that the US President Donald Trump, is seeking, by both legitimate and illegal means, to consolidate his position as he prepares for the upcoming presidential elections, and for this purpose he is determined to satisfy the Zionist lobby, to support him in these upcoming elections,” columnist and former director of the Culture Department at the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, Waleed Al-Rujaib wrote for Al-Rai daily.

“These means, driven by unprecedented adventures and recklessness, prompted Congress to take measures to isolate him with a rare decision because of his behavior, his failure to coordinate with the Congress, his suspicious behavior and his conspiracies during his previous election campaign, which led to his success as President of the United States.

“The last of these dangerous plots is that with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu he announced what is called the ‘Deal of the Century’, and it is another confirmation of all his previous positions to remain aligned with the Israelis, whether recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, or Israel’s right to annex the Jordan Valley, and large areas of the West Bank.

“It is needless to say that the deal detracts from Palestinian sovereignty, by drawing temporary borders for a Palestinian state, provided that it is demilitarized, subject to Israeli hegemony and full control.

“Not only that, based on this deal, Israel will reserve the right to set up checkpoints on the borders and inside Palestinian territories, abrogating the Palestinians ’right to return to their usurped lands, and plotting to resettle them in some Arab countries, in addition to imposing normalization on Arab countries for ties with the Zionist entity, and considering the Palestinian resistance factions as terrorist organizations.

“Certainly, this notorious deal comes in light of the rupture of the Arab countries, through a devastating sectarian fragmentation and civil strife among the components of Arab societies, as well as in light of the crisis of Palestinian-Palestinian differences, which weakens the popular resistance in the face of the Israeli enemy.

“However, inspite of this fragmentation, Kuwait sticks to its principled positions, in support of the brotherly Palestinian people, and their just cause in order to regain its lands occupied since 1967, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and support for the right of return for the Palestinian people.

“There is no way to face attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause, except by continuing popular resistance, and uniting the Palestinian organizations, under the leadership of the Palestine Liberation Organization, as the legitimate representative, supported by the just and fair Arab and international positions on the Palestinian right.

“The above requires the intensification of campaigns of solidarity and boycott of the Zionist entity, and the rejection of this suspicious deal, the support for the Palestinian people and their options, in building an independent and democratic state, away from the policies of annexation and the Zionist domination of Arab lands.”

“The Arabs in the past always repeated their famous saying, ‘Nobody can scratch your back better than your nails’ meaning you have to take care of your own affairs,” columnist Abdurrahman Al-Awwad wrote for Al-Sabah daily.

“This proverb is aptly applicable to the ‘Palestinian Cause’, because the ‘Deal of the Century’ and the Israeli laws on annexation currently threaten the existence of the Palestinians and pave the way to destroy their hopes of establishing an independent state to live in security and peace like other peoples of the world.

“Given the above, the Arab states, must at least adopt a strong and firm attitude to deter this unprecedented Zionist arrogance.

“In this context, we refer to the hundreds of Palestinians who recently protested in front of the United Nations to express their rejection of the ‘Deal of the Century’ and Israel’s annexation laws and to confirm their commitment to their land and homeland until the establishment of their independent state.

“Here, we must ask about the Arab prospective attitude towards all relevant dangerous developments related to their ‘central cause’ (the Palestinian cause) simply because it looks like it is unreasonable to request the international community to take action to deter the Zionists, while we satisfy ourselves with only condemnations and denouncements, particularly since this has been the state of affairs for the past so many decades.

“As a matter of fact, it is high time for the Palestinians everywhere to unite. Likewise, it is high time also for the Arabs to show unity with the Palestinians to help the latter in their struggle and help them restore the looted Palestinian state.

“We say the above, because the rights should not be requested, rather these should be taken away, and as such the so-called the ‘Deal of the Century’, represents in fact ‘the deceit of the century’ and this means the latter should be confronted overwhelmingly at the diplomatic and the informational levels through organizations and show the free world that the deal is a malicious scheme to steal the land and the life of a people who are eagerly looking forward to have a decent life.”

“There are many conflicts widespread in our world. These conflicts come in various forms – military, political, economic, cultural. They all flow to an important point – the struggle and survival of the fittest”, Jassem Al-Himra wrote for Al-Anba daily.

“American political scientist Samuel Huntington says in his book titled “The Clash of Civilizations” that the nations struggle among one another not with ideologies, but with the clash of civilizations, and divide it, as he sees it – Western, Latin, Indian, Chinese, Islamic, Buddhist, African, and Orthodox. Huntington believes that a person can change his ideological idea from liberalism to communism, but in a civilized struggle, a Russian cannot become a Persian.

“The same applies to religion. A person can hold two nationalities, but not two religions. He cannot be a Muslim and a Catholic at the same time! He also believes that cultural factors will form economic blocs and entities such as the state of the Asian tigers, their affinity with China and the possibility of Japan joining. This enhances ethnic and cultural identity and fluctuates ideological differences.

“On the other hand, the meaning behind Italian philosopher Machiavelli’s famous phrase “the end justifies the means” is that all means are available for use in the political struggle while justifying the cruelty in the rulers’ struggle for power.

“Machiavelli believes that religion is necessary for the government, not to serve the virtue but to enable the government to control people, as Roman citizens feared the Right’s perjury more than the laws, because they feared those who represented the powers of the Lord more than men.

“Between this and that, I read everything that is going on in the “Middle East conflict” between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, where important leaders of Iran and Iraq were attacked in Iraqi territory by a drone.

“More complicated, those who killed the leaders of the Popular Mobilization were the ones running military operations against ISIS! “However, some Iraqi people were happy to get rid of a leader who saved them from the threat of ISIS! Iran wants to preserve face and dignity in front of its people and the world. It is expected that it will have a response in the same military context, but when? And where? And how? This is what worries the whole world.

“Here, neither the Machiavellian by its law “the end justifies the means” will work, because what is justified for America and the Zionists is not permitted to justify it to Muslims, nor will the civilizational conflict of Samuel benefit because it seems that the Islamic civilization chose the internal conflict with itself to disintegrate more and more after it was wrestling with other civilizations, as Huntington had previously seen it.

“If he saw it now to change his mind, he wrote a new book titled “O nation laughing at its ignorance of nations”!

“In summary, history repeats itself in different times, but who understands and who is learning the lesson?!

Note: The campaign of treachery, prodding and touching among the people of the homeland revealed to us the racism and sectarianism that some exploit on any occasion and external conflict, and overthrow its devastating diseases on us. May Almighty Allah protect Kuwait and its people from all evil and harm!”

“With pride Kuwait celebrates the fourteenth anniversary of the assumption to power of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad during which the aspirations of the people have seen the light of the day and goals have been achieved and projects have been implemented in addition to raising Kuwait to a high pedestal in the arena politics, development, economic and societal contributions at home and abroad,” columnist Abdulrahman Awwad wrote for Al-Sabah daily.

“With the wisdom of giving and humanitarian initiatives adopted by HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah, Kuwait has assumed a high position among the international community, from the time he established distinguished, balanced and moderate relations – since he was Minister of Foreign Affairs – with countries of the whole world, due to his long political and diplomatic experience in this field.

“The Amir of wisdom has led the march of goodness, security and safety for Kuwait. His steps on the path of achievements were blessed and contributed to the promotion of prosperity and stability.

“He was able to overcome political crises that nearly ravaged the homeland, through an insightful vision based on his responsibilities to preserve the higher interests of the nation and the people.

“Kuwait, first and foremost, is the primary concern of the father of all, and the leader of the march. On the fourteenth anniversary, the people renew their loyalty to the wise leader, the just ruler and the protector of the constitution that steers the Kuwaiti ship to the shores of safety with all wisdom, knowledge and future vision. It is our right to cherish the Amir of Glory and be proud of the ‘Amir of white hands and the Amir of humanity’.”

“The Azayez farm in Abdali recently hosted the honorable Al-Sabah family, led by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad. The host of the event, which is always intimate, was Sheikh Ali Al-Jaber, allows all family members to express their feelings of loyalty to the leader of the nation’s march and the captain of his ship His Highness the Amir and affirming that Kuwait is one united family whose members cooperate for the good of their country”, columnist Abdulrahman AlAwwad wrote for Al-Sabah daily.

“This annual event organized by Sheikh Ali AlJaber is in honor of His Highness the Amir of the country. The presence of all family members confirms the distinctive and commendable social characteristics of the Kuwaiti society in the forefront of which are social cohesion, which embodies the authentic and benign customs of Kuwaitis in this society, especially among the noble ruling family members.

“Such events reflect at the same time the simplicity of the life of the ruling family, which is similar to the life of the citizen in all parts of the country. These events also reflect the keenness of His Highness the Amir to meet the youth of the family and give them directives from the experiences, wisdom and vision of His Highness in a wonderful family atmosphere that confirms the interdependence that characterizes the family of goodness and makes it a good example for all people.”

“Since the honorable minister Dr. Ghadeer Aseeri assumed the ministerial portfolio, she has been under parliamentary fire from every direction. Perhaps, most of the heat was because of a Twitter message she posted ten years ago. Frankly, a person can only stand and sympathize with the oppressed, even if he disagrees with him in opinion”, Abdulaziz Al-Kandari wrote for Al-Rai daily.

“Indeed, the distinguished MP Dr. Adel Al-Damkhi chaired the grilling, and upon listening to the MP’s pleading and the minister’s responses to the probe, I realized that the minister of Social Affairs would surpass the interpellation comfortably, especially since she was not given an opportunity to show her performance inside the ministry.

“It was possible for the issue to pass if she had sincere advisors; but I do not know who the advisor is or who advised the minister to take the last decisions, which changed the stances of the MPs who supported her, and led them to strongly demand for vote of no confidence on her. This was based on her decisions related to withdrawing the authority of the Director General of Public Authority of the Disabled, and other decisions that raised several question marks.

“These recent decisions that agitated the MPs are the ones that greatly embarrassed the government, and were even unexpected from the government itself, especially in terms of withdrawing the authority of Dr. Shafiqa Al-Awadhi, who was known for her reformist approach and her fight for the rights of the disabled, as well as the parachute appointments in the boards of directors of different cooperative societies.

“It is well known that the ministry’s new approach is not in line with such decisions.”
