Asian gang of 4 arrested for tampering with blood test results of medically unfit expats
9 held at massage parlour fearing AIDS spread
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: In cooperation with the Ministry of Health, personnel from the Residence Investigation Department seized a four-man gang of (Bangladeshi, Indian and Pakistani) for tampering with blood test samples, reports Al-Rai daily.
The issue became the focus of much attention for Minister of Interior, Anas Al-Saleh and Health Minsiter Sheikh Dr Bassel Al-Sabah, given the seriousness of the issue to the health of citizens and residents, and for fear of the spread of diseases and epidemics.
The source told the daily personnel from Residence Investigation Department led by Colonel Sheikh Abdullah received a report from special sources that the gang members were involved in tampering with results of blood test samples to help expatriates who were found to be medically ‘UNFIT’.
The source added the Department informed Minister Al-Saleh who in turn informed Sheikh Dr Bassel Al-Sabah, who then asked those concerned in the Ministry of Health to cooperate with the Interior men until the suspects were caught.
The source added the residence investigation officers contacted one of the suspects and sent him a secret source and the latter agreed to change the test result of a person for money, he was put under surveillance and caught in the act.

the Criminal Investigation
Department (CID) have arrested nine people, who periodically visit a massage parlor in Salmiya, in an attempt to identify who among them carry the HIV (AIDS) virus, reports Al-Anba daily.
This happened when a security source received information from one of the secret agents that a massage institute offers other illegal (flesh) services following which police put the institute under surveillance for four days and raided the place and arrested the nine people (cross-dressers) and referred them to the Ministry of Health.
The source said with regard to this serious matter, an investigation has been opened with the detainees and referred them to the ministry of health where they were subjected to examination and one of them was proven infected with HIV.
Police checked his mobile phone in preparation for calling those who are in his contacts to examine them for fear that the virus has passed to them.
The source emphasized that any expatriate who proves that he has connection with the institute will be expelled, and in case of citizens they will be referred to the health authorities for re-examination, indicating that the same institute about one year ago was raided and one of the workers was caught for indulging in immoral activities and the other was proven to be HIV-positive.
