KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: Director General of Public Authority of the Disabled Dr Shafiqah Al-Awadhi announced that the Misdemeanor Court sentenced some individuals to sevenyear imprisonment each for forging disability certificates.

Dr Al-Awadhi declared that the authority referred the cases to Prosecution when the officials discovered fraud in the documents.

She said she wondered why the convicts took such actions, which could only be attributed to lack of conscience and care for people with disability.

Dr Al-Awadhi assured members of the public that the authority will continue to act up to expectations in protecting the disabled while ensuring they get their full rights.

MP’s son detained: The son of a member of the National Assembly has been detained at an unidentified police station for intentionally colliding with the vehicle of an unidentified young woman, reports Al-Rai daily.

It has been reported the son was driving the car belonging to the Parliament.

It has been reported when securitymen rushed to the site of the accident, the youth allegedly tried to attack them but he was overpowered and arrested.

The vehicle of the woman has been referred to the technical experts in the Ministry of Interior.

‘Theft clip not local’: After a clip posted in the social media showing a veiled woman stealing gold from one of the shops in Al-Mubarakiya stores, a security source said it had not received any report of gold theft until the time this report went into print, reports AlAnba daily.

The security authorities said the clip indicates that gold worth 800 dinars was stolen from a shop in Salhiya, Friday.

A security source said the video clip is unreal and even went to the extent of saying that if the theft has actually occurred, it may be outside Kuwait.

The source added the surveillance cameras assist the security authorities in arresting the suspects.
