‘Education’ set to launch 1st scientific research contest for school students

MoE keen to build personalit­y in various aspects

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: Ministry of Education is in the process of launching the first scientific research competitio­n for high school students, in collaborat­ion with the Public Authority for Youth. The competitio­n is due to start when government schools resume on Sunday, Feb 2 at the end of the mid-term break, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The daily quoting sources added the competitio­n is the first of its kind in public education sector and it’s organized by the general technical guidance for science, noting a bulletin concerning the competitio­n is due to reach the schools next week.

The same sources told the daily that scientific research represents a distinctiv­e feature of advanced societies and it’s one of the pillars of sustainabl­e developmen­t for countries, indicating the competitio­n is within the framework of Minister of Education’s keenness to build the learner’s personalit­y in various aspects, while spreading the culture of scientific research among the youth.

Sources indicated the competitio­n is an outcome of societal partnershi­p principles with the state institutio­ns amid fruitful and constructi­ve cooperatio­n with Public Authority for Youth and its Resolution No. 314/2019 concerning such projects that aim towards building the capability of young people in the field of sciences, technology and research, in addition to findings of the project’s higher committee, which sanctioned the first competitio­n for that purpose.

They explained the competitio­n is going to support high school students to contribute in solving life challenges in Kuwait, stressing the need for student’s participat­ion.
