FM receives phone call from French counterpart
Deputy FM meets UN Coordinator in Somalia
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 18, (KUNA): Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Dr Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah received on Tuesday a phone call from French Minister of Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian.
They tackled bilateral ties, and expressed their keenness on boosting relations between both nations, to better serve the joint interests of both countries and people.
They also discussed the latest developments in the regional and international arenas.
Meanwhile, Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah met on Tuesday with Deputy Special Representative of the UN SecretaryGeneral and Coordinator for the UN Humanitarian Affairs in Somalia, Dr Adam Abdel Mawla.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed ongoing preparations for the upcoming conference to support education in Somalia, due to held in Kuwait later this year, and the UN contribution and preparation for the first-of-its-kind conference.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for Protocol Affairs Ambassador Dhari Al-Ajran, Assistant Foreign Minister for Arab Affairs Ambassador Fahad Al-Awadhi, Assistant foreign minister for affairs of the deputy minister’s bureau, Ambassador Ayham Al-Omar.
Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference on Education Support in Somalia, Dr Ghanem Al-Najjar, and Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Resident Coordinator to the State of Kuwait, Dr Tariq Al-Sheikh also attended the meeting.
