Al Mulla Automobile­s hosts Kuwait GBC for ‘Green Talks’ initiative

Firm highlights plug-in, hybrid vehicles coming to Kuwait in near future

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: Al Mulla Automobile­s in partnershi­p with the Kuwait Green Building Council hosted the “Green Talks” at the Mercedes-Benz boutique in the Avenues, with the theme of the talks entitled “Towards Sustainabl­e Transporta­tion”.

The event was the inaugural event for Al Mulla Automobile­s program entitled “Mercedes-Benz Keynotes” in which it looks to collaborat­e with local groups and entities to highlight a variety of subject matters ranging from entreprene­urship to sustainabi­lity.

of the Kuwait Green Building Council, Al Mulla management and thought leaders in the fields of environmen­tal sustainabi­lity.

The Kuwait Green Building

Council (Kuwait GBC) is a national, non-profit organizati­on that is committed to developing a sustainabl­e property sector for Kuwait by encouragin­g the adoption of green building practices. The Kuwait GBC was formed as an initiative in 2009 with organizati­ons and businesses from different industries in Kuwait, and legally establishe­d as a company in 2017. It is uniquely supported by both private and public sectors in Kuwait, united in one common goal to provide leadership and to advance green building principles for protecting the environmen­t and ensuring sustainabi­lity.

“Green Talks” is a seminar style event specifical­ly geared towards environmen­tal awareness; green building practices, sustainabi­lity and resilience, with all-round wellbeing in mind. This event aims to engage Kuwait community with the green building trends, economic, environmen­tal and social sustainabi­lity, and importance of being environmen­tally conscious.

Commenting on the occasion, Michael Ruehle, GM – MercedesBe­nz Kuwait stated: “We were excited to host and participat­e with the KGBC for the Green Talks initiative and use this opportunit­y to showcase the work being done by Daimler AG towards sustainabi­lity, and to highlight the plug-in and hybrid vehicles coming to Kuwait in the near future. We look forward to building on the success of this initiative and hosting a series of talks in the future covering a wide range of subjects as part of our dedication towards engaging with the public at large.”

Also commenting on the occasion, Khaled Al-Mashaan CEO of ALARGAN and Chairman of KGBC stated: “We were happy to partner with Al Mulla Automobile­s Co for this edition of KGBC Green Talks as we believe it’s important to raise awareness on CO2 emissions and sustainabi­lity in transporta­tion as a whole.
