UNDOUBTEDLY, the Sultanate of Oman is on the threshold of a new dawn; during which the renaissance started by Sultan Qaboos Bin Said – may Allah be merciful to him – more than five decades ago will be completed. Although activities slowed down due to the illness that silenced him for a few decades, engineering of the internal front will be tenaciously done today through the realistic vision which Sultan Haitham Bin Tareq relies upon.

For this, a keen follower of the maiden speech delivered by the Sultan at the end of the mourning period for the great deceased will see a clear roadmap for reinventing all State apparatuses. This starts with education, which has always been enjoying special consideration in the Omani development plan throughout its modern history, by restructuring the administrative sector. This is because developing the sector will reflect positively on Omani, Gulf, Arab and foreign investors; while the guided government that started in Muscat some years ago will be consolidated.

We said it long ago that the Sultanate of Oman is iconic in the Gulf and among Arabs. It has a special place in the minds of all GCC citizens. Therefore, the pledge made by Sultan Haitham Bin Tareq to begin implementation of Oman’s Vision 2040 and deal with the current global challenges with its effects on the region absolutely means that we will soon see a new Oman. This will be done by continuously sending peaceful messages across the world as it reaps the fruit of such policy in its regional and global relations daily.

In all this, it is impossible to build the future without involving the hands of the youths who, according to Sultan Haitham, “are the inexhaustible treasures and resources of nations.” They play a big role in the development that the Sultanate anticipates. Without a doubt, listening to them will strengthen dialogue among generations. This is exactly what the Sultan pledged, because revitalizing the minds of leaders striving to build the future of their countries on elastic and solid foundations is based on humans.

This speech, or better put, the roadmap is what the Sultanate needs to drive the Omani national will towards continuous modernization of the country; and to consolidate its role in the Gulf region and Arab world in a manner that serves the collective fate of GCC countries and the Arab world.

Without a doubt, this beautiful country is billed for massive investment activities as the wheel of activities begins to rotate once all State institutions are completely overhauled.
