Al-Mazeedi calls on employers to ensure safety of workers

Kuwaiti Al-Mahdi chosen for 2020 TED Fellows Program

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: The Director of Public Relations at the Public Authority for Manpower Aseel AlMazeedi has called on the employers to ensure the safety of workers by providing them with protective clothing and tools and personal means such as gloves, hard hats, shoes, suits, masks and other means of prevention, reports Al-Anba daily.

Al-Mazeedi said that protective clothing should be appropriat­e to the nature of operations and the type of risks to which workers are exposed and workers are trained to use them, along with the need to take into account the provision of proper methods of conservati­on, cleaning and disinfecti­on.

She stressed that the employer may not deduct any amounts from workers’ wages in exchange for providing these means and commitment to all means of providing occupation­al

safety for employment.

For the first time in history, Kuwaiti Zahara Al-Mahdi was chosen for the 2020 TED Fellows Program, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The seats for this program were given to 20 influentia­l persons in the world who played a positive role in society.

Speaking to the daily, Zahra revealed she belongs to the group of film makers as she participat­ed in many festivals around the world through the YouTube series, “Birds Monitor”.

On her participat­ion in TED Fellows Program which will be held in Vancouver, Canada in April; Zahra said she will focus on the role of the artiste who attempted to highlight an idea criticized in society for the purpose of building, not to express his feelings or himself.
