Commerce minister sets prices of face masks

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24, (KUNA): Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan issued a Ministeria­l Decision on Monday setting prices of medical face masks.

The ministry said in a statement that the minister issued the decision on basis of a letter from the Ministry of Health, recommendi­ng that masks’ prices be set between 100 fils and KD 1.320.

It warned violators of the set rates would be punished according to relevant laws.

The ministry added in its statement that the department of commercial supervisio­n and consumer protection had devised a plan to monitor prices of medical utensils at pharmacies and medical centers to ensure adherence to the standard criteria and regulation­s..

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: Informed sources at the Ministry of Public Works and the Public Authority for Roads Transport (PART) approved a special substance so-called “Super Parve”, which was used to develop and repair the road network in Kuwait instead of the usual material, due to the quality of the new material and the value of its components, reports Al-Anba daily.

The sources added the new material will be used in various road projects, whether external

to inspect prices of the medical products in the local market, it said, urging citizens and residents or internal, to avoid the problem of flying gravel.

The sources revealed the delay in the road repairs and developmen­t program is due to the lack of sufficient quantity of this material in addition to the lack of finances to cover the road projects in general.

The sources said repairing the road network needs between one and 3 years and pointed out that PART on a daily basis applies the asphalt coating on tens of kilometers on damaged streets and roads.
