Joblessness declines among Kuwaitis: report
KUWAIT CITY, Feb 24: Personnel from the Residence Investigation Department, led by DirectorGeneral, Colonel Sheikh Abdullah Al-Malik, raided massage parlors in the Ahmadi Governorate, and arrested 30 cross-dressers suspects, a majority of them Filipinos for violating the health laws because they did not have the health cards to practice the profession, reports Al-Rai daily quoting security sources.
The same sources indicated some of the institutes where the raids were conducted did not have the license while the licence of one of the parlors had expired.
Those suspected of carrying the infectious disease were referred to the Ministry of Health for tests.
KFSD holds drills:
The Fire-fighting Sector of Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) carried out a number of drill exercises recently with the aim of raising the level of efficiency of the fire-fighters and developing human resources.
According to a press release, the first drill was carried out by Doha, Sulaibikhat, and Mubarak Al-Kabeer fire stations. It involved dealing with hazardous materials in the East Doha Station with the cooperation of the Safety and Security Department of the station. The drill was about successful implementation of fire-fighting and evacuation strategies at the required speed.
Meanwhile, the Fahaheel Firefighting Center carried out a fire drill in the cinema hall of Al-Kout Mall with the cooperation of the mall administration. Sulaibikhat and Ardiya fire stations carried out a drill exercise in the Natural Medicine Hospital in
Andalous area. During the exercise, the hospital was evacuated, and the control and rescue plans were successfully implemented.
Ex-con stirs chaos:
A 1990-born Kuwaiti citizen broke the glass windows of three vehicles parked near a branch of a cooperative society in Qurain area, attacked securitymen, and ran away shirtless.
According to sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information about the incident, securitymen rushed to the location and found the shirtless citizen. They demanded to see his identification document but he refused. He then beat him and then ran away.
Investigations revealed that he was recently released from Central Prison.
A security team was formed to find and arrest the suspect, against whom a number of cases will be filed.
Jobless Kuwaitis decline:
Chairman of the parliamentary Human Resources
Development Committee MP Khalil Al-Saleh confirmed that they discussed the State’s replacement and employment policies, reports Al-Rai daily.
Al-Saleh disclosed a total of 4,640 expatriate employees were laid off in two years and another 25,000 will be replaced with Kuwaitis soon. He said the number of Kuwaitis waiting for jobs has decreased to 6,000 and 1,500 of them will be employed in the banking sector in the next few days while the others will be hired by government agencies.
He added that according to the replacement policy; 3,140 expatriates were dismissed in 2017 and 1,500 in 2018. He also criticized the absence of a government strategy for the recruitment of Kuwaitis in the private sector. He cited the lack of encouragement and commitment on the part of nurses despite the fact that there are several openings in this field.
CBK seeks details:
Informed sources said the Central Bank of Kuwait
(CBK) has circulated to banks and exchange companies the Public Prosecution request to inquire about all financial transfers made by a Lebanese woman for a period of about 20 months, reports Al-Rai daily.
The sources said the CBK has requested detailed information about the transfers from January 23, 2018 until August 20, 2019, however it did not clarify the reasons that led to the opening of the investigation with the Lebanese.
Disaster averted:
Officers of Ministry of Interior managed to avert a disaster on the road leading to Jaber Causeway by facilitating a speeding heavy vehicle with faulty brake system to avoid other vehicles on the road and eventually come to a stop.
According to security sources, the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received a call from the driver of a heavy vehicle who reported that the brake system of his heavy vehicle is faulty, and that he is unable to either stop the vehicle or slow down.
