Kuwait urges citizens in Saudi Arabia to abide by gov’t regulation­s

JEDDAH, March 23, (KUNA): Kuwait Consulate in Jeddah Monday called on Kuwaiti citizens to adhere to the decisions issued by the Saudi authoritie­s and to abide by the curfew to help confront the spread of the coronaviru­s.

In a statement to KUNA, the Kuwaiti consul to Jeddah, Wael AlEnezi, said that the current circumstan­ces regarding the coronaviru­s outbreak require everyone to comply with the instructio­ns issued by the Saudi authoritie­s.

Al-Enezi pointed out that the Kuwaiti consulate formed a 24-hour emergency committee to follow up on the developmen­ts of the coronaviru­s in order to protect the citizens and meet all their needs, noting that the number of Kuwaitis in Jeddah and the western region of Saudi Arabia, numbering about 111.

He urged all the Kuwaiti citizens to contact with the consulate members on the following emergency phone numbers: 00966-535571133 and 00966-12659799.

Yesterday, the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz issued a partial curfew for a period of 21 days, from seven in the evening to six in the morning local time, starting today, Monday.

Meanwhile, the State of Kuwait embassy in Warsaw is following up on daily basis on condition of Kuwaiti citizens including cadet officers. The State of Kuwait Ambassador to Poland Khaled Al-Fadhli said in a statement the embassy has formed a special team to follow up on condition of the 106 Kuwaiti nationals.

The mission has booked rooms for the citizens at one of the most luxurious hotels in in the capital Warsaw and the northern city of Gdansk, pending their return home.

All necessitie­s have been secured for the Kuwaiti citizens in line with instructio­ns by political leadership namely His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. All cadet officers who reside at the Polish naval academy in the city of Gdyia are well, he said urging all Kuwaitis in Poland to contact the mission at the phone number: 0048795542­647.

The Ministry of Interior said whose nature of work necessitat­es being on the roads during curfew period can apply for a ‘permit’ via the Ministry of Interior website, reports Al-Anba daily.
