KUWAIT CITY, March 23: A joint committee comprising members from three ministries and charity organizations has been formed to deal with the dozens of Kuwaitis and expatriates who were arrested for violating the curfew, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Informed sources revealed that the committee includes representatives of the ministries of Interior, Commerce and Social Affairs and 10 charities.

They have agreed to allocate two schools in each governorate to house the expatriate violators, after obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Education. The sources said that a budget has been allocated to put beds in those schools, in addition to a budget to provide meals for those who will be subjected to the harshest penalties, and would be expelled from the country.

In this context, the sources informed the committee also allocated 4 schools for violators of the residence law; they will be detained there, with all medical precautions and food services provided, until the number reaches 200 people from one nationality before they are deported.

The sources stated that the first person to be arrested was a Kuwaiti. He was picked up on Blajat Street in Salmiya.

Meanwhile, police have arrested nine people, including Kuwaitis in separate incidents for violating the curfew in the first hours of its implementation, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Security sources told the daily the instructions given to the securitymen are crystal clear and indisputable, in the sense no breach of the law is tolerable.
