Ministry acts on residence
KUWAIT CITY, March 24: The Ministry of Interior has launched two new services to facilitate companies and businesses to renew their workers’ residence permits to take precautionary measures against the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), reports Al-Seyassah daily.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the first service is for first time registration for companies and institutions to obtain a user name for the residence renewal service for workers in the private sector through website www.moi.gov.kw.
Interior Undersecretary for Residence Affairs Major-General Talal Ma’arafi added the second service enables business owners to renew the residence of their workers in private sector Article (18) and domestic workers of Article (20) if they are outside the country provided that there is no security restriction preventing the renewal of residence permits in accordance with the applicable rules and conditions.
He called on citizens, expats and owners of companies and institutions to take advantage of these free services and complete their transactions online in order to save time and effort and help prevent and limit the spread of the coronavirus.
The statement stated that the two services come within the framework of cooperation and coordination between the ministries of Social Affairs and Information and the communication technology sectors in the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Health, the Public Authority for Manpower and the Public Authority for Civil information.
