No instructio­n yet to suspend fees on overstayer­s amid lockdown of airport

KUWAIT CITY, March 26: As at Wednesday, the General Administra­tion of Ports had not received any instructio­ns to exempt anyone who came to Kuwait on commercial, tourist or family visa to exempt from paying fines and stressed all violators of the law are obliged to pay fines or the visit should be extended by the concerned authority, reports Al-Anba daily.

However, the sources said, the fines can be exempted if a decision is this regard is issued by the Council of Ministers.

It is noteworthy that the controls and instructio­ns for visitors include the following:

Entry permits for residence (to work in the government – or the private sector – or to join the family – to study – to practice a profession – for domestic workers) that allow the holder to stay temporaril­y in the country for a period of two months from the date of entry during which he reviews the General Administra­tion of Residency Affairs to provide the necessary conditions for obtaining regular residence.

Entry permit for the visit (government, commercial, family) allows its holder to stay for one month from the date of entry and the person must leave immediatel­y after the end of the visit period, and its holder is prohibited from working inside the country.

The entry permit for tourism permits its holder to stay in the country for a period of three months from the date of entry, and he must leave immediatel­y after the end of the visit period, and its holder is prohibited from working inside the country.

The entry pass to pass allows the holder to stay temporaril­y in the country for a period of seven days from the date of entry.

The entry permit for motorists allows the holder to temporaril­y reside in the country for a period of 14 days from the date of entry.
