Shipping lines between Kuwait and other countries normal
KUWAIT CITY, March 26: CEO of Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company Mutlaq Al-Zayed said the strategic stock in the country is very reassuring and there is no need for fear and concern among consumers, affirming that plans are implemented accordingly, reports AlSeyassah daily.
He affirmed the shipping lines between Kuwait and countries which supply foodstuff are normal, indicating the company’s stock of some products is enough for four to six months and others for one year depending on the quality of the products.
Pointed
He pointed out that the recent speech of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on the need to ensure ample food supply in this period is a road map, guiding light and nature of work in the company.
He confirmed the company is committed to its responsibility to maintain food security and meet the needs of consumers by providing adequate stock of all products in cooperative societies and supermarkets. He reiterated that the company has had clear achievements in terms of production and distribution at a time the country is facing the coronavirus crisis, disclosing the company distributes its products to 65 cooperative societies.
On the role of the company in manufacturing, production and distribution operations in light of the curfew imposed recently; Al-Zayed confirmed the operations of the mills are proceeding normally as per the dates set by the government. He explained the organization of operations has been amended several times, such that products are available to consumers during regular times.
He asserted the curfew is a successful step by the government and it is applied in the best interest of citizens and expatriates in order to prevent spread of the virus and avoid risks, especially since it is applied in many countries which witnessed good results.
Affirmed
He said the higher leadership and the Cabinet have repeatedly affirmed there is ample supply at the government’s disposal all the time. He urged consumers not to panic over the possibility of depletion of stocks and food commodities. He also emphasized the need to legalize consumption operations to reach the acceptable level, not excessive. He wondered if it is beneficial for a consumer to buy more than what he needs, considering most of the goods will expire.
He called for distributing products of the company, through cooperative societies in each region, to houses at normal prices in an organized manner by young volunteers in order to curb the spread of the virus.
It is clear that the management of the company and the entire team succeeded in achieving many goals, foremost of which is the provision of products to consumers without shortage.
