Many commercial complexes remain shut to avert ‘corona’
Co-ops, food shops open
KUWAIT CITY, March 26: Director of the Capital Municipality Badr Abu Raqbah announced that the Violations Removal Sector and the emergency team participated in intensive inspection tours and closed down 12 commercial complexes within the governorate to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
In a press statement, Abu Raqbah added the municipality closed several commercial complexes, the most important of which the Mubarakiya Market, the Friday Market and its surrounds in Al-Rai area, in addition to Sharq Market and the Awqaf complex, in the implementation of closure orders regarding the commercial complexesin accordance with the recently issued Cabinet decisions.
He explained that the oversight teams in the municipality branch of the Capital Governorate participated in organizing intensive inspection tours in different areas within the capital over the past few days to ensure implementation of the closure orders on commercial complexes (malls).
He mentioned that several shops were excluded from the decision to close, including the cooperative societies’ malls and marketing centers of all kinds, and food and supplies outlets within the commercial complexes (malls) provided that a special entrance is provided for them.
Abu Raqbah indicated that shops overlooking streets and squares of all kinds were excluded in the commercial complexes (malls) which have external door provided that the internal door is closed, if any, alongside the administrative offices in the upper floors of the commercial complexes (malls).
Detection kit useful:
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad, said the Corona virus detection kit is useful in making sure if the person has contracted the virus is among the best, reports AlAnba daily.
He pointed out that with the use of this device, the situation will not be changed especially with regards to compulsory home quarantine.
Auto club theft:
Police are looking for an unidentified thief who allegedly broke into the Kuwait Automobile Club in Al-Dajeej and stole helmets, programming devices, cameras and other accessories, reports Al-Rai daily.
A complaint has been filed by an employee of the club at the Jleeb AlShuyoukh Police Station.
Security sources said, personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have lifted fingerprints.
Ammo dumped:
Police are looking for an unidentified person for allegedly dumping some arms and ammunition in front of the house of a Kuwaiti residing in Al-Siddiq, reports Al-Rai daily.
A security source told the daily when the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior police rushed to the spot and recovered the ordnance.
