‘Bachelors shifting to private homes monitored’

‘Power supply to 14 properties cut’

KUWAIT CITY, April 13: Director General of Kuwait Municipali­ty Engr Ahmad Al-Manfouhi affirmed that adequate preparatio­ns are in place and Kuwait Municipali­ty’s inspection teams are ready to follow up procedures to address the phenomenon of bachelors moving to private residentia­l areas, reports Al-Rai daily.

In a press statement, he confirmed the existence of a monitoring and follow-up mechanism in this regard by Kuwait Municipali­ty and the General Department of Investigat­ion.

Luring young women:

Police have taken into custody an unidentifi­ed Kuwaiti for luring young women to ‘join’ his night fun party and offered her 100 dinars, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily said this happened at a time when Kuwait with the world is fighting to control the coronaviru­s.

The suspect allegedly kept pestering the woman with messages even after she refused his offer and against violators.

He said, “The inspection team in Jahra Municipali­ty recently disconnect­ed power supply to 14 violating properties after being monitored by field teams with the cooperatio­n of the concerned authoritie­s. The inspection teams will intensify their tours to monitor the presence of bachelors in the private residentia­l areas, in line with the law that bans accommodat­ing bachelors in private residences”.

Engr Al-Manfouhi affirmed that the municipal teams in all the governorat­es monitor the violating properties around the clock, and coordinate with the relevant authoritie­s to take necessary legal measures, adding that this is based on the intention of curbing the new coronaviru­s (COVID-19) from spreading.

Eng. Al-Manfouhi revealed about coordinati­on with the Public Authority for Manpower, obligating companies to place their workers in designated locations and conforming to specificat­ions.

He observed the need for precaution­ary and preventive health conditions and procedures to curb the spread of the virus, indicating that sanctions will be applied by the Public Authority for Manpower against companies that violating these condition and procedures, to the extent of closing the facilities and canceling their files.

The daily added, the Gulf citizen was found inside his parked car on the Sixth Ring Road.

The bedoun was arrested at an unidentifi­ed location. The suspect also allegedly verbally abused the security officers.
