ver the past few weeks, magazines, news, videos, documentaries and films produced by Hollywood; studies and narrations highlighted the emergence of the virus that hit the towns and cities all over the world creating a massive state of panic and terror.

Everyone questioned by the governments failed to contain the epidemic, or least why they failed to contain the epidemic or at least were ready to fight it.

The governments have determined the load capacity that heavy vehicles can carry as means to protect the asphalt from getting damaged, but a Canadian study has shown that it is better for the governments to allow the trucks to carry any amount of load they want to carry and suggested extra weight carried by the trucks must be charged (load beyond permitted), and part of the fees can be used to fix road damage, and support the state budget with the rest.

Some countries build rainwater reservoirs to collect water, and do not take into account the years when the rainfall exceeds significantly.

Any loss caused by flooding of the roads when the sewage cannot keep at bay the rage of storms and rains, the cost of building sewage systems cannot be compared on par with the loss because storms and heavy rains may occur only once every 20 years.

In analogy with this, if senior weather forecasters met and warned the governments of coastal countries that strong waves would hit the coasts of their cities, will governments, for example, build high concrete walls to protect their coasts and their cities? Most likely the answer is NO.

Consequently, any previous perception of the ‘corona’ epidemic was not good enough to push any country to prepare to contain the virus by building shelters, storing hundreds of millions of masks, gloves, respirators, sterilizers and

antiseptics and so on in addition to preparing thousands of intensive care units, field hospitals and other huge costly preparations, which may never be used.

Of course, the world has now discovered that the picture is completely different, and that, after the epidemic recedes, it is necessary to think seriously about how to face thus maladies in future.

In the meantime, many people who can be called backward are bragging about the health situation in which ‘super’ countries have found themselves, compared to us, and how they described naïvely the health system in the United States and Europe calling it ‘miserable’ and how we are better than them. It is clear here that the comparison is not fair, neither in terms of number nor the geographical aspect.

The mistake committed by developed countries was not related to the health equipment; rather, to the leaders’ indifference to read the might of the epidemic, its tremendous effects, and the frightening consequences of the lock down on the economy.

This is what we have noticed in the simplicity of the decision in a country where there is no real industry and its relative financial ability to bear the consequences of the decision of a comprehensive and complete lock down.

We hope from our heart that our health conditions will remain as they are, and not be sorry for rushing to celebrate our achievements.

Just as some have linked the accuracy of the films and narrations that we mentioned at the beginning of the article in describing the situation in which we live, and the conspiracy theories, and how big countries or world powers know ‘everything’ about this virus, and that one of them spread it to eliminate the other, to clear the atmosphere, and buy the shares of companies when prices fall, and other absurdities are unacceptable to the mind.

This is as if all US or Chinese companies would be worth something originally if the economies of the great countries collapsed, as a result of the epidemic.

What we are saying is not to ‘disclaim’ any party, but only to refute the conspiracy theory.
