AIDMO kicks off ‘interactive platform’ to confront repercussions of COVID-19
Platform includes request orders, offers
RABAT, April 20, (KUNA): The Director General of Arab Industrial Development and Mining Organization (AIDMO) Adel A-Saqer said Sunday that the organization launched a platform, which will tackle orders and offers of Arab industrial products, to keep pace with the repercussions of COVID-19.
In a statement to KUNA, AIDMO chief said the platform will be a knowledge base for decision makers, or any concerned party.
The goal of this platform is also to activate its role in supporting and coordinating efforts by Arab member states to confront the repercussions of this epidemic on the Arab industry, and in order to achieve integration and enhance inter-Arab trade in industrial products, Al-Saqer added.
AIDMO chief noted the platform includes request orders, and offers of a number of Arab countries goods and food products, including medical and health supplies, in addition to information through official websites of Arab countries as well as data from some Arab companies and industrial institutions that have production capabilities to meet these needs and cover the increasing demand for these products.
Al-Saqer added that the platform also contains a diverse and integrated set of information related to the measures, procedures, and initiatives taken in this regard.
Al-Sager confirmed that the platform includes a number of standard specifications for sterilizers, masks, gloves, medical clothing, cleaning and disinfection materials and other protective equipment for manufacturers and laboratories that the organization has provided in coordination with a number of Arab and international standardization bodies.
AIDMO chief called on people from the private and public sectors to interact with the organization through this platform, and enter data related to their orders and offers of goods and products at the link: aidmo.org/covid19.
Al-Saqer noted that the organization is continuously updating it.
He also expressed his hope that this initiative will contribute to strengthening the capabilities of Arab countries to face the repercussions of this pandemic.
AIDMO is an organization with legal, financial, and administrative independence, and was established with 21 Arab countries in its membership.
