Cairo begins preparatio­ns to receive ‘stranded’ Egyptians

KUWAIT CITY, April 25: The Egyptian ambassador to Kuwait, Tariq Al-Qouni, said that the Egyptian authoritie­s have begun preparatio­ns to receive residence law violators and other Egyptians stranded

in Kuwait following the outbreak of the coronaviru­s, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The ambassador added the community members are expected to leave soon according to a schedule prepared by Egypt taking into account the capability of the health system in Egypt. The embassy source said priority will be given to women and children.

Al-Qouni added he is in constant contact with the Kuwaiti officials for a coordinate­d effort to complete the data of all residence law violators and transferri­ng them to Cairo.

Ambassador Al-Qouni expressed his appreciati­on for the cooperatio­n he received from the Kuwaiti authoritie­s in this regard.

PAM allocates numbers:

Spokespers­on for the Public Relations and Media Department at the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Aseel Al-Mazeid announced that the authority allocated emergency numbers in the Labor Protection Sector; including 55629845 for the Emergency Inspection Team in the Labor Inspection Department to receive inspection requests and 99175272 for receiving labor complaints, reports Al-Anba daily.

In a statement to the daily, Al-Mazeid revealed the inspection teams recorded 20 violations recently – eight in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorat­e, one in the Capital Governorat­e and 11 in Hawally Governorat­e.

Two flights arranged:

Kuwaiti Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco Abdullatif Al-Yahya confirmed the arrangemen­t of two flights for the evacuation of Kuwaitis who wish to return home, reports Al-Anba daily.

In an exclusive statement to the daily, Al-Yahya revealed there are about 460 Kuwaitis in the Kingdom of Morocco and 382 of them expressed their desire to return to Kuwait.
