Indian envoy lauds historic ties between Kuwait, New Delhi
Chinese Ambassador praises China-Kuwait relations
KUWAIT CITY, April 27, (KUNA): Kuwait Ambassador to India Jassem Al-Najem Sunday commended historic relationship between Kuwait and New Delhi, and the two countries always seek to develop them in political and economic domains.
Al-Najem, in a press statement, said Kuwait and India were cooperating and coordinating to step up the fight against the novel coronavirus, Covid-19.
Kuwait and India share many principles in their foreign policies, like respecting UN Charter, non-interference in other countries’ affairs and respecting sovereignty of nations, he said.
Kuwait and India, said Al-Najem, were looking forward for the joint committee meeting during the first quarter this year but the coronavirus forced postponement of the meeting.
Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Li Minggang stressed that the strategic partnership between the two countries is getting stronger every day; especially after passing the test imposed by the corona epidemic through their coordinated efforts in curbing the spread of the virus, as China stands with the government and people of Kuwait – shoulder to shoulder and for better or worse – in fighting this virus, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
Speaking to the daily, the Ambassador
asserted: “We are confident that we will triumph over this epidemic through our efforts, cooperation and exchange of information to limit its spread and provide health care to the infected, as well as taking precautionary measures to prevent the spread of this unforgiving pandemic.”
The Ambassador also praised the efforts of frontliners who work round the clock to combat corona, without regard for their safety and health; as well as the military and police officers and individuals who defend the system and security of society day and night, and the volunteers who are working hard to ensure that life goes on smoothly.
